Birch Bloggin' — Birch Syrup

While Birch Syrup is a unique taste unto its own, it is useful when describing Birch to compare it to more familiar flavors, but the one thing you may be surprised to learn is that we don't compare it to Maple Syrup…….at…all.

October is undoubtedly "pumpkin time" and its hard to walk a 1 km radius without bumping up against a pumpkin spice latte or the imagery one. However, that didn't stop The CANADIAN BIRCH COMPANY from getting on the pumpkin spice train to launch its newest product all the way to Pancake Town! And it is delish!

It just so happens that Glenda & Rory Hart, The CANADIAN BIRCH COMPANY founders learned one thing early on in their marriage. Their illnesses, rashes and digestive issues were not an adverse reaction to being married to one another!! They were both diagnosed with Celiac's Disease. Later on, entering the food industry, meant lots of taste testing of new products and everything had to be gluten free* or risk the nasty fallout...

Here is a little known fact- the birch tree is a distant cousin of the apple tree. So it is no surprise that apples and birch syrup make such a great pairing.
